So I'm going to go out on a limb here and make three predictions for next year (wink).
- Prediction 1: Susan O'Connell who lost the mayor's seat last month will be appointed to the vacant seat on council when the newly elected independent Taylor Grapes resigns.
- Prediction 2: Ed Stewart will be appointed to Jim Bloom's vacant council seat.
- Prediction 3: Chief Harold Rost resigns....
This shouldn't be of any great surprise to anyone as this is typical of how the borough is run. You highly intelligent voters in Crafton have yet realize that the people you vote for are at best, incompetent.
So you made a good choice by electing Jim Bloom as Mayor, Susan had clearly failed at the post. However, I'm not sure what the rational was that made you folks elect Taylor Grapes, let alone Tom Phillips whom I don't believe was event registered or had voted prior to this year.
So with that said, the police department will be run more efficiently but the borough, well thats up in the air.
I hope my predictions are wrong, well sort of.....

Congratulations to the moderator of this site. I can assure you that at least one of the predictions that you had "hoped was wrong", indeed is. Taylor Grapes, the newly elected Independent councilman from Ward 1, isn't going anywhere. So unfortunately, you'll have to work on your predictions list, because your anticipated resignation will not be taking place. It's very easy for people like you to sit comfortably on the bench and point out the mistakes of players who are at least in the game, making an effort. What Crafton needs is leadership that cares about one thing, the continued quality and well being of this community. What we don't need is people filled with pessimism, who want to sit around predicting Crafton's inevitable doom, who at the same time choose to do nothing to stop it. You seem to have lots of ideas about how to run Crafton properly in order to make it a successful community. All I can say is this, because I don't know who you are.(Very convenient...) I truly hope that your name was on a ballot on election day. If Crafton is so important to you, in both it's victories and blunders, I hope that you had the will and determination to put yourself out there and make some attempt to have a voice that counts, to have a hand in molding this community's future. If not, then maybe we should leave running Crafton to the voters(who you are so quick to insult), and the people they elected, and not to the "wanna be" Bill Maher's of the world who are intent on sitting idly by while making predictions of impending failure.
